Overview & Reviews
The height-adjustable allroad debuted last year to fill a slot left in Audi's lineup by the lack of an SUV. For 2002, a heated multifunctional steering wheel with Tiptronic is an option, as is an OnStar telematics system. Standard is an in-dash six-disc changer. Brushed aluminum-finish accents spruce up the interior.
- Elegant styling, sumptuous interior, height-adjustable suspension, extensive safety features, lively V6 engine.
- Steep price tag, lack of a V8 engine, no transfer case for more adventurous off-roaders.

2001 ALLROAD - 2002 Audi Allroad Quattro
By FARGOFRED - May 18 - 3:33 pmElegant looks-inside and out. Very comfortable for long rides. An absolute joy to drive. Acceleration is very good (could be better with a V8) and handling is superb with minimum body lean, no tire squealing.

audi allroad - 2002 Audi Allroad Quattro
By tomallen - March 11 - 10:00 amBought one of first in area. Love the six speed as it turns the wagon in to a sports car. Excellent handling for such a big car. Of course, wish the mileage was better, but we have averaged 20.3 in 15000 miles, burning plus grade. Used off road with pumps cranked up. Handled rocks and ruts quite well. Second Audi, the first being a 1996 A4. Can not say enough about innovation and quality (how far Audi has come in just a few years!) Audi always has been innovative and now it has the quality to boot., and is one of best marques on road, including BMW and Mercedes.

A Stylish Rocket! - 2002 Audi Allroad Quattro
By Mr Fussy! - January 21 - 10:00 amHave had the allroad about 4 months now. So far so good! Great styling, performance, handling and stopping power. Suspension a bit bouncy on rough surfaces, but manageable. Seems to be built like a Swiss watch, fit and finish is outstanding. Anxious to see how it does in snow (live in Colorado). A real blast to drive in the mountains, it really flies up the passes. Suspect it will not do as well in snow as my Subaru Outback, however, tires on Audi are very wide. Turbo lag a definite annoyance.

Excellent hwy hauler - 2002 Audi Allroad Quattro
By Sven - April 21 - 2:30 amPurchased this car certified used. Got plenty of compliments about the way it looks (i.e. expensive). People at work were questioning if I got some secret raise. As far as driving the car, its not quite the drivers car but I knew that coming in. What it excels in is a highway hauler. I needed something to drive up to Lake Tahoe hauling my skis, mtn bike, and friends while cruisng in comfort. Once this car is on the highway it just hauls and is very quiet and comfortable. Much more than an Outback I use to own. Turbo/transmission lag is annoying and heard it can be fixed with an aftermarket ECU. Also when the car is cold it feels like its running on 4 cylinders.
